What to do if the power goes out

Unplanned power outages can occur at any time due to weather conditions, construction damage, traffic accidents or equipment failure. 

Most power outages will be over almost as soon as they begin, but some can last longer. Power outages are often caused by freezing rain, sleet storms and/or high winds, which damage power lines and equipment. Cold snaps or heat waves can also overload the electric power system. It’s important to be prepared for extended power outages.

THI cannot be held responsible for loss or damage caused by an interruption or defect in the supply of electricity. As outlined in THI's Conditions of Service, we are only liable for damages that arise due to negligence in providing service to the customer.
